Mom's Beans

Ingredients

Pinto Beans
Sweet Onion
Salt
Bacon
Jalapeño
Garlic
Cracked Pepper
Chicken or beef broth

 


Directions

Put the dried beans in a crock pot. Fill water to cover the beans by about 1/4". Let them sit overnight.

In the morning, the beans will have soaked up the water. Cover the beans with the broth by about 1/2". Cut all of the jalapeños and onions into chunks. Don’t forget to remove the seeds in the peppers. Peel the garlic and add them whole. Put all of this on top of the beans and then cover with strips of bacon.

Put the crock pot on high. Check and add water periodically. They will take about 5-6 hours to cook.
